so HBO & BBC have teamed up to produce a film about Alfred Hitchcock’s unique working relationship with Tippi Hedren, and our first glimpse at the resulting film is… well, it’s cinephile porn, i suppose.
folks like me (and presumably you) eat this stuff up, anything to explore and deepen the lore behind such iconic films and their makers — Hitchcock’s storied cameos are just the beginning of his on-screen value. Sienna Miller has avoided quality projects like she’s allergic to them, but Toby Jones is interesting casting… likely to make Hitchcock his own, slipping into the proper inflections while avoiding pure mimicry.
you can see for yourself when HBO premieres THE GIRL on 10/20.
